Denair High School, Denair Middle School and Denair Charter Academy will all be administering the California Healthy Kids Survey to 7th, 9th and 11th grade students. Your child is being asked to be a part of our school’s California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education. This is a very important survey that will help promote better health among our youth, improve the school learning environment and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence.
The Core module collects demographic background data (age, sex, race/ethnicity) and covers key questions in four priority areas: resilience, alcohol and drug use, tobacco use, and violence and school safety.
It provides a comprehensive overview to health-related behavior and attitudes, and includes one item that assesses the reliability of answers.
