Dr. Terry Metzger, Superintendent

Welcome to the new digital home of the Denair Unified School District!

DUSD currently serves approximately 1,300 students from preschool through adult transition across four schools, with all campuses adjacent to each other and the district office, on one large education complex.

On the west side of Lester Road:

  • Denair High School (DHS), approximately 300 students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Transition program

  • Denair Middle School (DMS), approximately 300 students in grades 6-8, including a Spanish Dual Language Immersion

Located on the east side of Lester Road:

  • Denair Elementary Charter Academy (DECA), approximately 630 students preschool - grade 5, including a Spanish Dual Language Immersion

  • Denair Charter Academy (DCA), approximately 150 students in Kindergarten - grade 8 homeschool and grades 9-12 independent study

We are blessed to have strong community and parental support in Denair. Our students benefit when adults work together to provide a strong educational and extracurricular program. All of our activities and programs are driven by our commitment to the following:

  • District Vision: We empower tomorrow’s leaders through exemplary instruction and innovative programs.

  • Broad Goal: Students will have the foundation for success after graduation.

  • Focus Goal: Students will demonstrate literacy and numeracy across content areas.

  • Focus Goal: Our campuses will be positive and safe environments where all students can be successful.

We have much to celebrate:

  • Multi-Language Learners: Our Dual Language Immersion program is thriving, with our first cohort in grade 11 this year. These students are poised to earn the Seal of Biliteracy upon graduation, indicating their proficiency in at least two languages.

  • Career Technical Education (CTE) and Dual Enrollment: DHS offers seven CTE pathways and high school students have opportunities to take MJC courses for both high school and college credit.

  • Facility Improvements: DECA’s Gym Remodel resulted in a beautiful new kitchen and multi-purpose room space. Next up are new classroom wings and a remodel of the old cafeteria into a new office and library.

  • Amplify Desmos Math: We are very excited about our new math curriculum adoption. Students in grades K-12 are going to experience a robust and rigorous math program.

  • Mental Health and Social Emotional Wellbeing: DUSD has a strong mental health team to support student, family and staff needs.

We believe that strong partnership with our families is vital to student success. I encourage you to participate in our Parent University workshops, attend our Cafecito/Coffee Hour meetings, and stay updated through our various communication channels.
