Denair Unified School District

Denair Unified School District is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and equitable learning environment for every student. We encourage students, families, employees, and community members to share concerns so that we can work together to address them.

The Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) provide a process for resolving certain complaints involving discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, unlawful fees, and alleged violations of state or federal laws governing specified educational programs.

If you believe an issue falls under the Uniform Complaint Procedures, you may submit a written complaint to the district. Complaints may be filed using the district's complaint form, although a complaint does not have to be submitted on a specific form.

What types of concerns may be addressed through UCP?
UCP may apply to complaints involving areas such as:
  • Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or bullying
  • Unlawful pupil fees
  • Certain state or federally funded educational programs
  • Special education programs and services
  • Career technical education
  • Child nutrition programs
  • Adult education
  • Migrant education
  • Child care and development programs
  • Other programs identified under California's Uniform Complaint Procedures

For questions about whether a particular concern falls under UCP, please contact the district office.

Williams Complaint Procedures
California law provides additional complaint rights related to the quality of a student's educational environment. Parents/guardians, students, and teachers may submit a Williams complaint concerning:
1. Instructional Materials
  • Students, including English learners, should have sufficient textbooks and instructional materials aligned to the content and curriculum standards. Students should have access to these materials for use in class and, as appropriate, to take home.
2. School Facilities
  • School facilities should be clean, safe, and maintained in good repair.
3. Teacher Vacancies and Misassignments
  • Each class should have an appropriately assigned teacher who holds the required credential or authorization to teach the class. Complaints may be filed regarding teacher vacancies or misassignments.
