Curriculum, Standards & Instructional Materials
At Denair Unified School District, our goal is to provide every student with engaging, high-quality learning experiences that prepare them for success in school and beyond. Our teachers use the California Content Standards and state curriculum frameworks to guide instruction and ensure students develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding they need at each grade level.
California Content Standards
California's academic standards establish what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. DUSD uses these standards to guide curriculum, instruction, and assessment across all content areas, including English language arts, mathematics, science, history/social science, physical education, visual and performing arts, world languages, and other areas of learning.

Instructional Materials & Textbook Adoption
Quality instructional materials are an important part of effective teaching and learning. Denair Unified follows California's instructional materials requirements and state adoption cycles while using a local review and adoption process to select materials that align with California standards and meet the needs of our students. Teachers and educational leaders consider curriculum alignment, instructional quality, accessibility, student needs, and opportunities for meaningful learning when evaluating textbooks and other instructional resources.
The district also provides supplemental materials when appropriate to enrich instruction and support individual student needs. DUSD's annual review of instructional materials helps ensure that students have access to the resources they need to participate fully in their learning.

Grading & Feedback
At Denair Unified, grades are an important part of communicating student progress with students and families. We believe grading should provide meaningful information about what students know and can do while helping them understand where they are in their learning and what they can do to continue growing.
Parents and guardians can monitor student progress through Aeries, and DUSD provides resources to help families better understand our approach to grading and feedback.
